Ripping Code from Simple Software

wacaw - webcam tools for Mac OS X … I wish I could find more projects like these when I'm looking for example code. It's small, to-the-point, and it works.

Most importantly, the code is straight-forward. I found that out when I got to my favorite part of open source: ripping the spare parts of of a project until all that's left is the core, the gem I can carefully insert into another project to avoid reinventing the wheel. It was only about 120 lines out of the project's original 550, but getting there took minutes because the code and program aren't complicated.

This page is in recognition of the hard work of such hackers that make the ripping easy.
