Tom Says: Safe code is boring code!
My PDA is a Palm Tungsten E2 and it works great. I upgraded from a Palm Vx, which I also enjoyed. I guess I like Palms. Anyway.
For years I synchronized and charged it using the USB cable that comes with the device. After purchasing a Kensington Bluetooth USB Adapter 2.0 recently (March 2007), I've started synchronizing wirelessly, which is great. However, having always used the button on the cable to initiate a sync, I never had any idea that the giant HotSync logo in the Palm "HotSync" application is a button. Figuring out how to start a sync was actually the most confusing part of the whole process for me.
As the software that comes with the dongle is very good at walking you through detecting devices and their capabilities, and had sane defaults, I had nothing extra to configure on the PC end to enable wireless sync. I used this amazingly complete Bluetooth-on-Palm guide for steps on how to get the PDA end working.
I haven't tried this is Linux yet. It probably doesn't work.
