Tom Says: Safe code is boring code!
My university enabled me to opt into spending my second semester of my sophomore year studying at Kyushu University in Japan, as part of that school's Japan in Today's World program. I would have blogged about it here, but that was too tedious, so I set up a blog at Vox to document my trip. While I was dodging giant aliens and fighting to keep down foreign dinners, I didn't want to be worrying about finding an unclosed HTML tag or manually uploading my images. So go there for documentation of my trip.
By the way, part of the program was an independent research project. I built a computer-based kanji dictionary, which I wrote about on my independent study project page.
