Daily Crap 2009-04-03

  1. I'm conducting a new PLOrk (Princeton Laptop Orchestra) piece I designed called "kindness" this semester. Today we rehearsed it with some additions I added over the last week, and the sound is amazing. There was a moment when I had everyone turn the distortion to max while improvising chords and absorbing it in the conductor position was like being covered by a blanket of sound. It was surreal and I can't wait to share it as a finished piece. I will be performing it with a reduced orchestra in Chicago in a few weeks. It will be recorded.
