Daily Crap 2008-08-13

  1. A friend from summer camp recommended the book Code: The Hidden Language of Computer Hardware and Software, so I yanked it with my Amazon Prime trial. I've skimmed it and read the first two chapters: it's good, but I don't think I'll learn anything from it.
  2. Google search of the day: hate web apps.
  3. A friend from further back recommended Things even though I told him I'd already paid for—and put all of my data into—OmniFocus. I hope I hate it; I don't want to spend more money on organizational software. Please let me hate it. Please?
  4. Sam and Fuzzy is really heating up. You may not be able to tell unless you've been following it, though. Go through the archives! This strip is awesome!
  5. I need to check this out sometime: delMDSOC (from the FONC mailing list: "a kernel for MDSOC (multi-dimensional separation of concerns) programming language implementations, and it's completely based on the COLA infrastructure")
